Longest run since the Brooklyn Half last month. Overall felt pretty good. Got tired around mile 9, but picked it back up a little later.
Real nice weather, about 60 and sunny with a slight breeze.
A recovery run that definitely felt like a recovery run. Legs were sluggish. Never pushed it.
Weather was crap. Cold, rainy and very windy.
Altogether, today was an unpleasant experience.
Felt good. Pushed the hills on the backside pretty hard. Was my longest run in over two weeks. I think I'm back. Going to go 11 on Saturday. We'll see how that feels.
Near perfect weather, sunny and about 50 degrees. It was a little windy, however.
The run felt great. I think I'm caught up after those nine days of non-running. I had to press at the end to come it at that time, but it was fine.
The Nike+ Sportsband seems to be working. But, I have no idea how someone could possibly use it as their running watch. More on that later...
I didn't feel as good today as yesterday. But, the run ended up being fast (for me.) Again, the weather was great, though a little warmer and a little more humid. Still, it felt nice. The touch of humidity though, reminds me that summer is just around the corner.
After calibrating the Nike+ Sportsband, it was pretty much dead-on today. Nice.
Today's run felt much better than Thursdays. Ran the four miles in 38:00. It was a perfect morning for a run, about 65 degrees with a light breeze.
Ignore the Nike+ run showing up in the bottom right hand corner of this page. It's wrong. Way wrong. I'm going to try calibrating it tomorrow.
Picked up Nike+ Sportsband today after work from the Nike Store on 57th. Currently owning a Polar RS800 and a Garmin 305, I need another watch like Lindsay Lohan needs another drink.
But, I've been curious about the Nike+ website. I was a bit envious of all those folks and their fancy social website to play with. However, I'm not an iPod owner and I hate running with headphones, anyway. I'm also not a fan of Nike shoes, but that doesn't really matter.
I've got the watch charged up and ready to go. Tomorrow I'll take it for a spin and I'll see how it goes. If, after a couple weeks, wearing two watches becomes too geeky or uncomfortable, I'll just donate it. At $60, the watch was inexpensive, and I'm sure someone else could use it.
It's funny. Two weeks ago I ran the Brooklyn Half-Marathon averaging 8:53 miles.
After nine days of non-running due to illness, I ran three miles at 10:00 minute miles and it took me longer to get my heartrate down to normal.
Nine days of illness and inactivity just wipes you out. However, I know that within three or four runs, I'll be back to where I was before.
Glad to be back!
Finally feeling better. Waking up early and going for a run tomorrow morning. It's been 8 days since my last run. Can't wait!
This is what I do when I'm sick and I can't run and I can't go out. I start new blogs. If you look around, you'll see I'm all over the place. Nothing substantial, mind you, but I like trying out new software.
On this blog, I plan on keeping a running journal, of sorts. Can't imagine it will really be interesting to anyone but me. In fact, even I'll probably get tired of it and this space will die a slow death.
